This is the first of a series...it is listed as a novella but at under a 100 pages it is a very short novella. I have read through book 3 in this series and have enjoyed them all. This is a good, short read and Ms. Devlin always puts some heat in her books no matter what the length.

This was a super quick read, and as such... I simply wanted more. I liked the strength Maya showed through the pages, and felt she was a well written lead female. I did feel that she was probably a bit too forward -- with the length of the book and the timeline, some of the scenes felt too quick or forced.
Maya co owns a travel agency that recently decided to offer adventure tours in an attempt to attract more clients. She draws the short straw and is shipped off to Central America to a resort that teaches survival skills. One of her instructors, Angel, is an undercover DEA agent who's mission it is to find a drug lord's sister before the enemy does. When Maya is kidnapped by the enemy, Angel convinces them to let him accompany her under the pretense that he could assist them in managing Maya. The two form a bond while escaping from their captors.
While the story line was good, I thought the story itself lacked character development. (Spoiler alert). For example, Maya thinks Angel is HOT during one of their driving lessons together. This is the only interaction the author writes about between the two characters. The next time we see the characters Maya is sneaking into the men's shower to seduce him. She repeatedly says she has known harmless flirtation before but with Angel it is different. I struggle to see how it's different because she knows nothing about them. Their chemistry is through the roof though, they have tons of HOT sex which I admit is very well written but they seem to spend more time in bed than getting to know each other. At first I was okay with this assuming it was a more of a prolonged one night stand. But when Maya begins to have strong feelings towards Angel, I was taken back. How can she love someone that she only knows between the sheets?
Another thing that bothered me, Angela admits he only slept with her the first time to try to determine if she was the drug lord's sister. He never apologizes for this and yet she is never angry about this. Minutes later they are back in bed together and all is forgiven. It doesn't make sense. I felt like she should have been at least a little angry and he should have been apologetic for his behavior.
The end of the book didn't fit with the story in my opinion either. How could two people who know so little about each other having only spent a matter of two or three days together make such a commitment to each other? Maybe it would be different if I felt the connection between the characters but I didn't.

Angel Rickman, a former ex-marine and all around alpha male is one of her instructors, however he is there for other reasons. Looking for the daughter of a drug lord, he thinks Maya may be the woman is trying to locate and keep safe. The chemistry between these two is explosive, once the danger passes will they be able to move on with their lives as if nothing happened between them?
Wonderful read, Angel is hot and sexy and Maya determined to stay strong through every challenge she faces. Hot, sweet and super sexy!!!
Delilah Devlin can be counted on to supply a strong story that is complemented by well written erotic moments. It always amazes me how well she balances her stories, the love scenes actually move the story along. Dangerous Liaison was previously released as part of an anthology. This standalone serves as the kick off of the Adventure Girls, Inc. series. It's short, definitely not sweet, and oh, so sexy. The thing I liked best about this story was the fast pacing, and the fact that the characters were vibrant and independent. The story itself is well crafted, with all aspects; erotica, romance, action, and suspense, represented equally and beautifully. Looking forward to the next one.

Loved this book. I love the books by Delilah Devlin.
Ms. Devlin never fails to deliver a good story. This is the first of a series of books. I read the second one first and enjoyed it so much I wanted to see how the series began. I would definitely recommend this book.
